Hi all, I downloaded the files for EFU last night and installed them b/f work today. I am hoping to have time to get on and try it out tonight (or tomorrow) and wondered if there is a FAQ anywhere. I have never played "online" and wondered about pausing and other things I might be accustomed to doing while playing by myself.
I am not real familiar with spells (arcane or divine) at it relates to 3.5 (up to now I have been limited to the Baldur's Gate series) so I have been primarily playing Fighters. I am inclined to start with a fighter and add a level or two of Rogue. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Peace, John. |

G'day Stone warrior
Though I am newish to this myself I would suggest that a fighter / rogue build would be the best first up build to explore undermountain. About 20 skill points in 'use magic device' will allow you to cast all the spells from scrolls which is a great way to try out all the various spells and what works best for you in a given situation. Give your fighter plenty of strength too because it affects your 'attack bonus' which needs to be high on the lower levels. Enjoy yourself and hope to see you down there ![]()

Welcome and enjoy.
Pausing is out. Seems it can't be done online without creating problems for the server. Fortunately there are no penalties for respawning in Undermountain (we die too often for that) so it is frustrating but not a real problem. Fighter builds seem to be favoured here but I'm sure there are other views on that. Check out the latest post from Stig TC for ideas on builds that survive. Best of luck and if Halaster Blackcloak speaks to you be careful how you answer. |

You can also find Heaps of build on the site below.
Its made by some of the best build makers out there. http://web1.vattnet.com/staffan/search/builds.htm As was mentioned above their is no pausing in Online games. You will die but don't worry as you can get up straight away with no penalty. I would recommend for a new player to speak to Durnan and try clearing out his basement or exploreing the tradeway from Waterdeep. You can also explore Level 1 of undermountain as well. Both are good areas to get some early levels.

Hubby and I tried Friday but couldn't get in, so we ended up playing a mod we'd downloaded ages ago. But we would have rather done the EfU!
![]() Had the urge to break out some of our older characters to run to some lower levels. Hope we can get a little time off again soon...we love EfU! ![]() [ 08-19-2006, 10:37 PM: Message edited by: Cloudbringer ]

Let us know which files they are so we can help you with yoru downloads.
Most probably you have downloaded everything but some files may be in the wrong place. Make sure the tlk files are in the tlk folder, haks in the haks folder etc. Also you have to download the patch for massive as well. So You need Patch New Hak Old Extra hak Portraits

We had a BAD lightning storm the other day, and It was stationary for like 6 dang hours, so I turned everything off. TV, too. It was striking close. I DO have a very good surge protector for the website server, so I left it up. It also has UPS.
I plan on buying another for the my personal PC for EFU and stuff, but they cost like $70. (The GOOD ones cost a lot). BTW, Welcome Stone dude! Hope you enjoy the game! Loads of new levels on the way. just finishing stuff. BTW, the tower in Skullport will also have 3 levels in it. Done almost with it too. Mordok the Insane's Tower! |
