They all went NUTS and attacked each other!

What I TRIED to do was insert some NPC's into the Tavern/Inn you start out in, in Undermountain, and just to 'populate' the rooms, and I tested it out in single player, and they all went crazy and killed everyone (Me too)!

I even made sure they were all True Neutral. I guess I gotta edit their other stats or something to make then non-hostile.

Freaked me out.. Imagine going into a REAL Pub and everyone stops and looks at you at the whole room breaks out in a fight!! --wait a minute... that HAS happpened in a Pub before. Minus the FIREBALLS though.

Sounds like they were all set to "Hostile" faction, though its odd they attacked each other, unless they were all assigned unique factions. Im working on some npc's myself and I just read the part on factions in the worldbuilder guide...coincidence?

LOL Ziroc I`m still laughing at this one!

*pictures Ziroc walking into a bar, everyone stares at him and then attacks him, with both swords and fireballs!*

Too bad you didn't have a way to make a movie of that scene Sounds like you are having a blast...Wish I had the discipline to work on creating instead of playing

I got your back, Z. I got my new weapons in the mail today and I am ready to kick some arse!
Can you believe this? I love the RP gaming so much, I bought real weapons to realize the fantasy!

Gotta make the NPC's all the same faction to keep the hostilities down between them...

The true neutral is just for NPC reaction to Player...

But the fight senario must have been a hoot to witness...

Yeah I figured that out--I went and read up on all the Tools on the bioware forum, great resource!

I ALSO Read some of the Worldbuilder book that I bought, and MAN, it's got some good stuff in there. I added my Merchant to the Inn/Tavern and I am making my NPC'S Sit down, talk then get up and walk the nav points. So NEAT! You can make anything almost!

I am getting the hang of the scripting real fast, I used to program in Turbo C++ in DOS (I ran a BBS called WWIV and owned the source code and added mods to my board) and the code reminds me of that..

More soon!

Ziroc, one question. The worldbuilder book, does it give you a well documented insight in the Aurora toll? And is a book worth buying?

Ziroc, one question. The worldbuilder book, does it give you a well documented insight in the Aurora toll? And is a book worth buying?
I'm going to answer this for a) wolfie and b) everyone else, since we haven't really mentioned the Aurora toolset here. If you know C++ then you probably won't need the guidebook for scripting - but if you DON'T then it's pretty much essential IMO, unless you want to be referring back to the Bioware Scripting forum everytime you script something. In terms of teaching you about toolset functionality it does that fairly well - especially considering the toolset is user-friendly once you work out the GUI - but working out the GUI, and how things are put together, is actually not as easy as it sounds. I would get it - it's quite helpful and will probably flatten out your learning curve significantly.

Thanks Memnoche!

I have started to fool around the gui, and made some items, added sound effects and such. I have not yet been able to add a door though and other parts, but I got lost in the item creation process

I don´t know much about c++ except how it looks when someone very good makes it, and I don´t understand A THING about it..

So worldbuilders book.. here I come..

I will try to make more of this little Mod I´m making, a special little level only for my character, a nice little ranger. I found it cheesy though that if you make an item for like 30th level characters, your level 1 character can still use it unless you script it.. :S Weird..

Well, just give me a holler if you need some help with the U.mountain oki?

Items and the level design is progressing fairly well now, and I have found a very good way to make balanced items.. (evil laughter)
