Im just wondering if there is any gain in giving the revenant his dagger back, apart from from a roleplaying aspect.

I mean you get 3000xp for killing him, although I admit with my solo barbarian is was quite tough, but then you also get the dagger to keep and sell if you dont need it. Whereas if you give him the dagger you get nothing, no xp or anything!

Or am I missing something? Please tell me. Six what is your opinion on this?

Hentold gives you a dagger +2, so it's worth keeping for your mage if you don't have the quarterstaff +3 or the dagger of venom. IIRC, you get some XP just by telling Hentold that you'll take the dagger back, but it doesn't measure up to the XP you can get from killing the revenant. So just kill him and keep the loot if you're in it for the xp.

It keeps the weight off your character! It frees inventory slots! That's a reason to give it back...not a very good one, but it's a reason!

My opinion is that it's funny you should ask a guru for advice on how you should roleplay. It's also my opinion is that it's cool how BioWare went the extra mile and had the Revenant keep asking for his dagger back, even during combat. (And yes, I think there should be a little EXP reward for giving him his dagger back.)

or . . . howabout a role playing reward in which you get something better than the dagger but only usable by good or neutral characters, if you see what i mean - although a druid would slap down any walking dead i guess . . . ooh its tricky isn't it?

But if your character was of good alignment then he may see the Revenant as an evil character, and kill him, not knowing what he may do with the dagger.

However you could always look at it the other way, your character would possibly give the dagger back so the revenant could finally die in peace. And Hentold asked you to deliver it, so you are just doing as he asked.

If you were evil you may just kill him outright, wanting the dagger for yourself. Or you may not even kill him, but just leave him, so that Hentold still gets the nightmares (if that would work, it may be passed on to you, but you would soon see.)

If you were neutral I suppose that is the hardest one (and I am neutral.) You may have no reason to kill the revenant as he has done nothing wrong to you, and also Hentold has asked you to deliver the dagger back, so you may just do as the man asks. You are also letting the revenant die in peace, which could be seen as a good thing. Or, you may decide to kill him as he could possibly be a threat to others with the dagger, afterall, you do not know what he will do when he gets it. Also you may think that the dagger might be a nice item for you, which could help you protect yourself.

Just a few justifications.

It would be nice if you had an option to return to Alatos for some XP.
