OK, really frustrating. What do you do if you have a non-roguish character (in my case, a paladin) and come across a trapped chest? I have been just taking the hit and healing up but I'm at one now that kills me (does like 90 points of damage to me!). I have Sharwyn as henchman (or henchwoman as it were *grin*) but cannot convince her to disarm the *%&@$ thing! How do you handle this if you don't have disarm traps? Thanks a lot.
Oh yeah, and one more thing. I was told that my henchman would offer to level up when I leveled up but had to be one level behind me. OK, cool. My character is currently Paladin 3, Cleric 1, and Fighter 1 but good old Sharwyn is still not levelling. Does it go by character level or class level? All I know is that Sharwyn is in dire need of levelling up since she gets her butt kicked by a schoolboy who gets into melee range with her. Gets old fighting and then having to go back and pick her up when I have a chest/door to unlock. Help me out!

Ranged ammunition that deals elemental damage should do the trick. ire Arrows come to mind.

IIRC-If your henchman is in your party when you level up they automatically level up as well. You only need to ask a henchman to level up if they were not in your party when you leveled up.
I would bet Sharwyn is getting her ass kicked in melee becasue she is a bard with lame melee skills.
