Persuade

If you haven't already, put a lot of points into the Persuade skill. I have about six points in the skill, and also have Skill Focus

persuade) so that adds up to 9. It helps alot, saves you from a lot of needless battles, gets you better items, and gets you more gold. A very cool ability.

I agree. It's too expensive for non bard classes to buy much of, but the skill focus is a good work around. I've set up quick bar slots containing items such as the greater helm of persuasion, and the belt of the performer etc and as soon as I see a persuade option in a conversation I quickly equip them and get the benefits.

Well, I'm not a bard, I'm a barbarian, I just thought it useless to waste all those points into Hide or Listen, so I just spent them all on Persuade, Disable Trap, Search, and Dicipline.

Persuade: Look above.

Disable Trap/Search: No need for Tomi anymore!

Dicipline: Knockdown? Against me? Not a chance!

ARG!? I beaten the game and I had a BA utaful Sorceor with very high chrisma of 18 and persuasion of 9 but its originally 4 I bought a helment that increases persuasion by 5. ho ho haha anyways I am playing as a rouge and Im in Chapter 2 already and I decided not to use persuasion to get myself out of fights I hate playing it safe u don't get expirences for succsuesful (Xcuse my spelling) My Sorceror played it safe all the way. But you know what you know WHAT!!? (some of you must of heared this before I think it was you Willard and another) If I started fighting more and KILLING there would be a HUGE diffrence in my sorceror. Near the end of the game I only needed 20XP ONLY 20XP TO level up I was so close so close I beaten the game and got alot of expirences but I think its kind of too late. *SOB*

Don't use persuade to get out of fights. But to use persuade to ask for additional rewards, and to convince people to tell you stuff they hesitate to talk about. That's my main use for it.

Persaude is really important? Most people say after 1 or 2 chapters you got lots of money so its not necessary. Do you agree?

It's not so much for the money; actually you could never persuade anyone for more reward and you'd still have too much money

. But often people won't give you quests or give you important info if you can't persuade them too. It is very useful.

my monk has a 12 in persuade [img]smile.gif[/img] i can get just about anything that i want. now im dumping all of my remaining points into discipline. its costs two points, but my monk could use it, its a usefull skill. i dont like being hit by a called shot, or a knockdown. heh. by the way, the monk is the BEST melee fighter. once you hit level 6 or so, they just ROCK!!! all kinds of free abilities and feats too.

Gold? BAH! I dont use "persuade" to get gold, OR to talk my way outa battles *cough* save "good" ppl battles *cough*; I use persuade to get the others to accept me into quests, or to give me additional info. *sigh* that nymph cloak +5 is a real bonus.

Additional rewards aren't just gold. You can get an additional diamond and adamtite in chapter 1 if you persuade the right people.
