I would stay up for hours playing that game after midnight. I simply could not stop playing it with it's intriguing story line

Why do you think there are still people reading/writing posts in this forum?

Because BG is a damn good game

So go out and buy it. You wont regret.

Insane

BTW: No one that posts in this forum would think otherwise - I guess. One could say that the answers you get, might be a little biased

BG has much more depth, the NPCs are much more interesting, and the game is a lot less linear - in fact its probably the least linear of all the infinity games. If that appeals to you, get it. If all you want to do is fight battles, might want to reconsider. The technology behind the game is primitive enough it takes some adjusting to as well.

Um, this post sounds a lot less positive than I intended. Its still a great game though.

One example of how much thought BioWare put into the BG series:

When you're walking across a wood floor, you hear--
Ktomp Ktomp Ktomp Ktomp Ktomp Ktomp

When you're walking across a carpeted floor, you hear--
ftep ftep ftep ftep ftep ftep ftep ftep

When you're walking across a wood floor with a rug in the middle--
Ktomp Ktomp ftep ftep ftep Ktomp Ktomp Ktomp

Kinda frightening, isn't it?

It's the greatest RPG created thus far, PERIOD! Disclaimer: I have not played through BG2 yet.

I love the game so much that I do not want to see it end.

I have played 3 different parties up to chapter 6/7, yet I refuse to see the game through to it's final conclusion.

I know that someone else reminded you of this, but, I can't emphasize this enough, GET THE TotSC AS WELL!

There's an awesome dungeon in this expansion which is both fun and uber-difficult and there are other quests and improvements to the game as well.

Right now I am playing Icewind Dale 2 and even though it has a lot of neat spells, new weapons, decent story, difficult battles, cool 3rd ed rules, etc., it is ...LINEAR.

And I hate LINEAR!

Anyways, get BG and TotSC you won't regret it.

Basically a stupid question on this forum. Make sure you can get the expansion pack with it as well. If you like IWD you'll love the BG series so get BG2 with ToB as well. Do it now on Amazon
