Is the barkeep in Valeia sampling his own wares? I was unable to find access to the vast gypsy treasure trove stashed beneath the abandoned boathouse.
Is this one of the features that did not make it to the game perhaps? Jen |

Hi Jendyll,
To get the treasure under the boathouse you need to get the quest for the Orb of Clarity which is a wizards quest. You can't usually get it until you go to the Serpent Temple. I queried about this too when I first began but you know you can skip the whole gypsy thing if you want to as it is not vital to the main story. It is just a side quest and did not really have anything interesting in the chest. But of course it is up to you. Enjoy the game! I certainly did and I am on my second round with different characters.

To add to what morningstar said, you have to play nice with Herespia if you want to get at that treasure. Kill her or her minions before she opens it up, and you can kiss it goodbye.
And the treasure varies, but I think it might contain an ankh or two, which are always nice to have...

You do not need the quest. It suffices to give Harepsia the Serpent Wand. She will open the cellar.
Note. It seems not to suffice to give Harepsia the wand if you want the orb. According to my experience, you must ask the orb - otherwise, she opens the cellar but she does not give you the orb. On the other hand, you need not have the quest, either. Therefore: 1. Go to Harepsia. Say "No" to her offer. (You can. This saves time - you will not be forced to listen to her oracle. Another note: Even if she wants 300 gold for the oracle, she takes nothing. You can come to her without gold at all and ask for the oracle.) 2. Type in "Orb of Clarity". 3. Listen to her wishings. 4. Give her the wand. You will be given the orb and access to the cellar. All this can be done without any quest. P.S.: The chest always contains 1 random ankh. The rest of treasure is random trash usual in Valeia. [ 08-01-2002, 05:28 AM: Message edited by: Radek ]
