Sounds cool.
Hard battle right? Good luck on the mission to the Beard. |

Yeah, Jan, the return to Ulgoth's Beard is supposed to be pretty tough, as you have to defeat the boss of the main baddie in Durlag's Tower, as well as a slew of other opponents, of course. I will, of course, be well-prepared for this. Fight-wise, Durlag's wasn't what I expected---I thought we'd be attacked by hordes of enemies. But some of the fights were still challenging. To name one, besides the Demonknight, the one with the Phoenix Guard had me worried. The walkthrough made it sound like it resurrects as another one, but it was more like 10 of them, closely surrounding my party. Even so, we managed to put them out of our misery. As everyone says, the many booby traps are the worst thing about Durlag's. I must say, I rather enjoyed the slimy, cavernous area on Level 4.

Thanks Sig Segorn.
Maybe I should clean the rest of the Durlag's Tower. Arhh I hate those doom guards. How do I defeat them? |

Yes, you should finish up with Durlag's Tower before returning to Ulgoth's Beard (the last thing at Durlag's is defeating the Demonknight in a room beneath the 4th and last level). Doom Guards lack a ranged attack, so they're vulnerable to magical missile weapons. Here are links to 2 good websites that cover the particulars on every kind of opponent in BG and the Sword Coast expansion:

Thanks a lot Sig Segorn.
Brilliant. Surely "post of the day". The links are great. |
