bah, it's hard to decide

i guess it's more possible to powergame with evil charecters, while still staying in the bounds of role playing, but it's hard to decide what's within the bounds of roleplaying while playing a good char...

i personally do not percieve the export thing as cheating, but i don't do the magekill thing in keep anymore. i used to do a lot of cheap stuff, and powergame my ■■■■■■■ brains out, but throughout this game i have slowly crossed over to roleplaying. then i killed drizzt.. this is mainly because i can't work out my preffered ranger startegy (which i just thought of recently) with anything else, except leather armor... i guess there is still a bit of power gamer left in me. i turned my current game into a dash to get the items i want to work out a fine roleplaying technique suitable for myself. and no, i'm not gonna export 4 full plates and equiv's to hand out in my next game, i have it all planned:

helm of baluran, some cloak that works along with:
drizzt's mithril mail,
drizzt's 2 swords (the non-defender for sentimental value : ))
throwing-returning-axe-amajiggy
girdle of piercing
boots of speed
ring of free action and another ring i can't think of
shield +1 +4 vs ms.
[more stuff i am forgetting]

i have really crossed over to roleplaying, i even removed my 3'r'd prof in swords that i used to do all the time, i'll just wait till i can master (for ranger is 3) in BG2, which i think i can. my charecter is now absolutely pure, not the best but pure.

BTW, you know what's wierd? shouldn't good charecters be forgiving, etc. i hate when that crazy ass helm paladin attacks edwin in BG (the city) i now have 9 rep, and i still need to go through the rest of the game to get the stuff i want, cause i know i'm forgetting something.

BTW, can someone reccomend what i should do with my stash of gold (how do they carry it all) i have a big figure, i forgot what, with a 3 at the beginning, and i have already equiped my mages with robes of alignment, and i baught (shit, how do you spell that?!) the crossbow of speed and the black armor stuff. i d0on't remember the game that well, so etc.... BTW, can someone remind me of the position od basilisk forrest?

Well loser another interesting ring for the ranger is the Claw of Kazgaroth- good protection from missiles and gives armor. And an ideal cloak for a role-played ranger is the cloak of displacement. I think a ranger should be almost invulnerable to missiles...oh, I already talked about this...

second, i am probably gonna get claw of the khazgathingie, because as none of you have noticed, and as i had not, that the ring of free action doesn't let me use the boots of speed. i just found this out cause i just got the ring right after i posted. sucks no? now, about the cloak of displacement, i couldn't have the smallest clue as to where it is, i can't remember.

and also, don't mind my constant forgetfulness (esecially towards the spelling of words)

you can buy the cloak of displacement in the shop in Ulgoth´s beard

again, i'll wack my comp if this isn't a replay...

secondly, i chose a different approach, i started a swordsman ranger, so i wouldnot use the cloak of displacement. i have the shiels +1+4, girdle of piercing, andcloak of balduran. i think some people would need the cloak more. i gave the cloak of displacement to minsc, who now has an extra -7 AC for missiles, i gave the ring of invis to kivan, who has a not so good AC, so now he's hidden all the time with full plate. (BTW, yes, i did give gauntlets of dex to minsc). this way minsc has great resistancy to missiles, kivan has not so bad, but he's invis. my ranger had either -8 or-9 added on to AC for missiles, but she is hidden all the time anyway, with drizzt's chain mail. and coran is hidden all the time with shadow armor. i find it a good combo. i even have [almost] fighting mages, with AC's of 3..... if you can tell me how to achieve lower, i probably wouldn't do it cuse that would be major power playing.

BTW, i have 3 rangers and a fighter tjhief because i was planbning to get yeslick, but the greedy side of me took over, so i killed drizzt. i wanted to just get the throwing axe +2, but then, when i had just reached my cap, my friend gave my my tales back, and i just didn't think i would have enough time to play BG and tales again. (though i prolly will try with an only 2 or 3 person party) well, my friend returned tales, but i had already let yeslick go! damn! now i have to carry shiiiiit loads of healing potions, and my main fighting (though still very rioleplaying) ranger usually stays on half dammage. all i have are her 2 cure light wounds! shit, no?

oh yeah, i forgot:
i don't wanna use the claw cause i lose about 14 health, and no i am not gonna give it to a party member, because they all have low ass const's (and hitpoints) i also don't liket the idea of having a 12 (+4) save VS death and poison and such.
