Is Shinwiki's spear needed for anything later in the game, or can it be safely sold?

You can feel free to sell it if you don't want to use it. It has no significance in the game once it is in your possession other than being an optional weapon.

Thanks for the input. I sold it for 1250 gold, which my characters sorely needed. Everything's so expensive, and, so far, anyway, big money is hard to come by.
