multiclass hit points

Can anyone tell me how hit points work for multiclass characters? I've had a look around but I can't find it.

Does it average two rolls when you first generate a character?
Do you get the "whole" increase when you level up in one class?
etc . . . .

For a multiclass character (for instance a fighter/cleric), the hitpoints are added for each class, then divided by two. I cannot recall how BG handles the hitpoints for a multi-class character when you level up.

Multi-class character hp are funny. You roll for each class, then divide it by the number of classes. 2 for the fighter/cleric mentioned above, three for a fighter/thief/mage. The same with constitution bonuses. Round any fractions. In the long run, they usually get gipped on hp something awful.
