Greetings. I normally don't like asking questions off the subject but people on this forum are so nice and helpful, I thought I'd try. I'm and avid role-player who enjoys computer role playing games. I prefer the 3-D perspective though I did enjoy Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. I still think the 3-D perspective gives you a better feel for the game. That is why I love Wizards and Warriors. I am also a fan of the Might and Magic series. I have some questions concerning Might and Magic6. I realize 3DO has a forum for it but it has warnings saying it is not responsible for any damages which made me nervous. As a result, I didn't register. If only it had a forum as good as this one. You all are a great bunch. Thanks.

DelTim2: I have played MM6 extensively, and enjoyed it very much. If you want to ask some advice, I'd be glad to help you out.

If you feel better asking off the forum, contact me at my e-mail: bignord@lycos.com

I'm always glad to help.

(Sorry, just realized I used the old form of the e-mail; just amended it.

I'm a big MM6 fan. The Board at 3DO is safe. By damages, they mean, for example, if you take advice about drivers, etc. and harm your software. If you are worried about privacy, read the privacy policy/statement before registering.

I never did get to finish M&M 6 - got 3/4 or more through the game and then it was impossible to re-enter certain area of the map making it impossible to finish the game. Uninstalling, reinstalling, replaying - same problem. Ah well.

Ive played and finished 6,7,8
Might and magic series my opinions=>
The pros
(1) Great value more than 100 hrs play in huge elaborate world.
(2) Stats skills spells monsters quests bosses towns races Items its all in there

The cons
(1)Aliens, that sort of ruined the game for me and blasters, was a bit ridiculous
(2)Dodgy graphics that they never seem to improve in each passing sequel

Incidentally the m&m series has also been hammered by the graphics obsessed critics.

The aliens weren't too bad; at least they called them "devils" and they did cast fire spells the way you'd expect demons to do...

but I agree, those stupid blasters were the living end! And to have to deal with them in MM7 as well... I hope New World Computing has learned its lesson there, as they have caught more flack about the blasters than anything else...
