man those mantraps are a pain in the arse! I think I found a good way to kill them. walk slowly through the woods till one comes up close,( usually paired ), then back away slowly till it is about out of sight, there is usually one that follows, then run right at it and swing furiousy at it till it dies. then run at the second and destroy it the same way. My barbarian gets alot of experience that way.
hope that helps some. |

I usually just stand back a ways and launch Meteors at them. I can now get four hits in before they breathe... sometimes four will kill them too. It kind sof reminds me of calling in an artillery strike.

Who don't! (Hate 'em, that is.) Kell, you must be invisible or have well over 100 hit points each. I tried beating up on them and got cooked. But what I did find was that Burning Haze works wonders, especially if they're in your range but you're not in theirs! They can't do anything while the haze is in effect and you can blast them with meteor and any other spell while they're toasting. Just to give you some encouragement [ha ha, ] you'll meet some more of them in the Boogre Prison, and some cousins of theirs almost as bad in Dragonspire. Have fun!

You'll also meet some of them spawned at random around the Shire, as well as some of the Jungle Lilies out west of Brimloch Roon on those islands.
Another strategy, if you're going to the castle anyway, go through the broken-down wall in the back and head up to the turret (after killing the spooks, of course)... You'll be able to see them in front of the castle, but they can't touch you up there...fire away at them! -Sazerac |

I think those mantraps and jungle lilies are very dangerous when in close distance. But two or three well targeted Incinerates make quick and painful execution of them. In the BoogreMound i just "armed" the incinerates and fired them, while those plants couldn´t move on the stairs.
