Elevator Puzzle & Scroll Of Trickery

The scroll only appears on the table in Krueg's room after you have already started the Bard's Quest. Much like the Ring of Saint's appearing in the Crypt after taking the Priest Guild Quest.

As far as the elevators...there are several walkthroughs posted, but I simply put marker flags on my map for every elevator that I went on. Before long, I could see which ones I was missing and was able to finish them.

The protector guy should show up eventually. If you wander around you will probably run into him.

Thanks GrimReaper if I go back after completeing this and do the bard quest than I think it should show up, I'll have to try.
I had tried as you had suggested with the elevator puzzle, you probably right I just need to keep going around till he decides he want's to find me.

I am in the elevator puzzle in serpent temple, the room with the switch and key box on walls. I know I have to find the key from the serpent protector. I can't find him and I can't get the second elevator in this room to work I asume I need his key.
Second question I went to get the serpent wand and items out of treasure chest. I don't see the scroll of trickery in my posession and when I get back to town I wan't to make my rogue into a bard, did I look in the correct places in this room, I might have it in my inventory but can't find it?

storm, I'm having the same problem: got the elevators figured out, but the *%^?%#+@*$+ Serpent Protector won't show up, blast his green hide! I've wandered this place for a couple of hours (my time) and n-o-t-h-i-n-g to show for it. Well, nothing but one error message. If you or someone figures this out, post the solution. Please. The walkthrough I used (posted long ago here on this forum) describes it as (having gone through most of the
elevators):

"A short fall later, you stand before the Serpent Master" so look for a place where you can drop down.
It also says not to attack him yet..answer his questions "Yes" (you have seen Xydusa) and "No" (you have
never tasted her nectar) and he will give you another key.
Go ahead and kill him after you get the key if you can LOL (save your game first!) he tried to follow me and
took enough crush damage to be dead by the time I got back down from the left side elevator! (there is a
switch on the wall that activates the elevators there where he is).
His key also unlocks the room to get the tome of fire out of a chest you saw before the elevator hassles.

To get to the serpent protector in the elevator maze, you first need to pull the lever in the SW room, and then take the N elevator in the NE room.
