Pyramid bug

I've made it almost to the end of this enjoyable game, but when I activate the portal of Isis in the pyramid, all goes to hell. The magic button will cause a crash, the map button will cause a crash, looking at Kerah too lang will cause a crash. I managed to give the holy water, but since the game features weren't working, I couldn't cast lavawalk and got toasted.

Anyone overcome this bug?

BTW, I've been enjoying reading all the posts here. Y'all are pretty funny

It's one of the most dangerous places in the game (for crashing that is).
Some only succeeded without touching the magic button while Kerah was possessed. Save very often, esp. just before giving the holy water to Kerah. I haven't heard before of people who kept experiencing difficulties afterwards. Hope it will be more stable when you restart the game after Kerah's holy sip.
You don't really need to cast lavawalk, because the only useful path is straight ahead, through the doors. There's little to do in the other branches. So just jump. After that you probably don't need much magic anymore.

Do you have the patch loaded at all. That is something that is supposed to make the whole Kerah / portal scene run smoother (would suggest if you install, you try a game before you activated the portal). No lavawalk - that may be problem, because even standing in the doorway to open the locks I got burnt badly when the spell wore off. Your aim should be to get the locks open and get inside with someone (anyone) alive. Then try using scrolls / amulet to resurrect the dead and heal. The other option is to hunt around for a scroll of lavawalk. Someone claims they found a few in the pyramid, but I don't recall too many.

Thanks for the thoughts,

I'll share what I did to get through for the benefit of anyone who might have the same problem. I saved the game just before activating the portal, I converted to lo-res graphics, chucked the wet stuff at Kerah (she looked like she really needed a bath), walked to the closing area, and saved again.
Reloaded from that point and things were back to normal.

Now for the second time through!

Crypt and toads amazingly simple the second time! I little firestorm reduced those mucks to, ummm, muck that was no longer a threat
