the grate under the egg crusher is not allowing me to place an egg to be crushed.what am i doing wrong?

I had to actually get down on the grate, stand over the square in the middle and then drop the egg. Trying to drop it from the top didn't work for me. Once I got down there everything was fine.

You can always overload a character until he drops an egg. That's the way I got it to work.
