Well, just tried out the magic lamp, and am a bit dismayed by the options. The sword seems ok (now that I see that its enchantable), and the amulet certainly looks like the best overall. The armor just seems to stink in comparison, unless the regen+1 ability really makes up for the lower AC (I am wearing dragon plate).

So, hacking aside, which did you choose and why? I am leaning towards the Arms of Argus trait or the Amulet of Argus. I am just finishing up the Midlands, and haven't started exploring the third area yet, so I don't know what item upgrades await me.

TIA,
Mithrus

You get 3 wishes, but only one per person. Dropping that lamp between wishes can obtain you more than 3 wishes (if you haven't installed the patch ).

Sorry, I took Arms, sword and amulet of Argus - I di not abuse the lamp - I did however abuse the Assassin's dagger. A party of 6 assassins is cool .

Hi! I chose the Arms of Argus trait. Later in the game you'll get many nice amulets, swords and armours. Sometimes it will be difficult to chose which sword or armour etc to wear (your inventory will quickly be crowded up with various valuables). That being the case its better to have a nice trait which you'll always have use of, no matter what you've chosen for the rest of the equipment. So my advice is to go for the arms of argus trait!

I succumbed to taking advantage of the let's drop the lamp and re-use again and again (I have the patch installed and this bug is still there).

I like the amulet of argus since this is one of the best items in the game. (The only better amulet I've found is the eye of heaven which is sometimes found in the two final chests in the game). The arm of argus sounds great but it doesn't come up that often (get the giantstrike ability instead)..

There are definitely better swords and armour in the game. The additional 25 hit points if not a big deal unless your spell-casters are really frail. The +1 to all attributes is neat to have (especially if you are replaying the game), but doesn't really make a big difference to your abilities.

is this what the lamp is for? I thought it might be needed for a future quest or something. cool! i will have to check it out.

yeah, WaW has some interesting bugs in it that to me, add to the gameplay. I don't take advantage of them but it's neat because it reminds us that the game is still far from perfect, as great as it is. Plus, most of the bugs are really simple things that can lead to some horrible cheating but this game is so easy, it's not really necessary.

Damn, a party of 6 assassins...all with Lethal Fist and high Kung-Fu...(thoughts wander off) How do you get the dagger again to do this? Can you keep stealing it or is it available to buy at the pawne shoppe and then you keep buying it back...

Hi Jason!
To be able to get 6 assassins you'll have to utilize a bug in the game (but I've understood that you're unwilling to do so). If you've installed the patch, it's not possible to get more than one assassin.
