The only thing I can find on them is that they are a 1d6, in the same field as a long sword, but would deliver more slashing damage whereas a longsword may be moer piercing. Sorry. That is all I can find in my limited resource at the moment.

They are called large weapons in the game, which makes sence as they are a bit too big to be a light weapon.

No. It is considered the same as a long sword. My dual weld penalty kicked in when I put a scimitar in the off-hand of my ranger.

I heard that they really should be light weapons long but light.

I wonder how Drizzt perform all those feats with two cumbersome weapons. He has to be pretty strong to wave those scmitars of his very quickly.
