My local costco stocks this game for $15 should I pick it up? It doesn't come with HoW though.

You can always try looking for HOW in a bundled pack or possibly buy it through Ebay. 15$ for IWD sounds a tad high, but not so much that its a rip-off. Besides the game plays a LOT better in mplayer BEFORE you add in HOW.

I would not unless I could find a lone copy of HoW floating around somewhere. the thing is if you really enjoy it and want HoW you may have to buy it again just to get HoW.

They had IWD for $9.99, and I think they have HoW too. That's where I got my copy of IWD.

Triconan, my fellow Washingtonian,

pritchke is right: Hold out for HoW. Micah Foehammer is right: $15 is a bit high for IWD. I would say $10-$20 is about right for the bundle. (And it is going to be much easier to find a bundle than it will be to find a lone copy of HoW.)

I thought IWD was fun without HoW; but now that I have HoW, I look back and view the time I spent playing without it as virtually wasted. HoW does so much for IWD that, IMHO, it should not be viewed as optional.

Don't worry about mplayer. The reviews on this forum and by the professionals all seem to agree that IWD multiplay stinks, whether or not you have HoW. If you want a mplayer experience, get Diablo 2 and the LOD expansion, or some other game that is built around multiplay.

Oh, and lest I be misunderstood: IWD ROCKS with HoW; and is a pretty good game even without it.

Party On!
