I am in the yuan-ti temple. I save or quick save but when I go to load the game i get an assertation error "Shield equipped with bow" and the game shuts off. Anyone have this problem or a solution?

Yes, this is a bug that happen if you save the game while wearing the apprentice robe, and have both a bow, and a weapon and shield in your quickweapons slot.
You have to install the official patch to fix this.

Download the patch and this won't happen...it's on the IWD support page.

I have downloaded the Patch but it downloads as a Media Player file. why is this?

Make sure you have WinZip down loaded and opened.Then go to the Black Isle Icewind Dale main site and down load the patches from there .Now there are three patches.

thanks guys. I downloaded it from all the locations. I needed win-zip. I forgot to get when i set up my new pc. I worked around it unitl i figured it out. I would take the cloaks off and save. LOL.
You guys are a great help. |
