From BG1 to BG2?

How do i import my game into BG2? Do i have to defeat Sarevok *AGAIN* and it will then take me to Irenicas' damn dungeon?

P.S. Yes i do realize this could have gone in the Shadows of Amn bord but i decided to put it here.

Load your game from the latest save. Go to the stats screen and I believe there is a button there that says export use that. I'm not certain if you have to move your char. file from the bg1 folder to the bg2 folder or not, but next you just start a new game and import your character from bg1. Actually you probably don't have to move the file it may let you browse when you import. I'm not 100% positive.

Go into the Black Isle folder in 'Program Files' and then take out the files that make up your last save game (in the 'save' folder). Put these files into the 'save' folder in 'BG II - Shadows of Amn'. Then the next time you start Shadows of Amn, just click 'import' in the character creation screen.
