problem with IWD freezing, need help!!!

HI guys,
new to the internet as well as the chat line!! Buuuut, if someone
could help with a little problem I would greatly appreciate it!!
I just loaded the IWD patch 1.06 and went into the game to finish
my game and when I got to brother perquin in lower dorn, he phased out
and it went into a movie. after the movie I end up in a frozen waste
and the computer freezes, somewhat, what I mean is that I can move the messages up and down and I can hear back ground noise, my characters even grumble at just sitting there. But I can't DO anything like collect my characters or move around.
can someone help, please.

ok, this one I can help you with...try and take everything out of yor override folder, just move it to another folder on for example your desktop...now try and start the game, it helped for me, but I'm just not sure anymore

that really solved my problem. NOW I can conquer...er I mean finish, yeah that's it, finish the game.
