i have the lcanthropy, i went into the room, but what do i do? Just step into the room and the lich is dead? Or do i drop it on the ground? I'm not sure what to do.

If you indeed have Terikan's phylactery, then simply entering the correct tomb (Jamoth's, to be precise) will destroy both phylactery and proto-lich, as well. After that, simply report your success to Norlinor.
