Woot! Khalid single-handedly took out both flesh golems in High hedge! His AC is -2, has gaunts of Dexterity and Plate mail. a +2 Long Sword. I had him drink a Potion that set his AC to 0 and his saves +5. then a haste potion. He had to gulp down a couple of healing potions but he was able to take them both down! This is probably second-nature to a lot of you, i am expecting a lot of "duhh thats so easy" but i think its cool

My favorite method is with either Arrows of Biting or Darts of Wounding. Those Fleshies have such bad Save vs. Death it usually takes effect, and it ignores their Magic Resistance. Awright.

gahh what IS the deal.. i ended up killing the mage inside. In the next zone, i meet this chicken asking me to take him to Tethyrol or something-- was this not the mage inside Highhedge? I went back to a save game from b4 i killed him, only killed the golems, went, got the chicken, returened and the mage was gone altogether. The mage if you talk to him becomes a merchant.. this is a one-shot deal? You have no more chance to buy things? or maybe it was the wrong time of day!??

You can go at any time to the mage and buy or sell things. He has only a few interesting items, e.g. the robe of the archmagi.
It is totally independent from the time of the day.

If you have the chicken with you then you should get an extra conversation option when you talk to him. Don't kill him! He has a lot of cool stuff to sell: the Robe of the Good Archmagi, the Light Crossbow of Speed, loads of spells and magic arrows, and (I think...) the Shadow Armour.

The mage @ High Hedge doesn' have Light Crossbow of Speed - Taeron Fuirim in Beregost has it 12,000Gp. Btw, I never had to kill the Flesh Golems, I just talked to the mage quickly and don't remember being attacked after talking to him. Melicamp...ahh that was funny.
