I've just finished the level with Carston at Watcher's Keep and have returned to Saradush to rest up and sell some stuff before tackling the last levels. The weird thing is that when I rest, I'm sleeping for anywhere from 30 to 34 days! What's up with that? I have all of the patches, but I can't figure out what's up. Anyone else have this problem?

try disabling the "rest till healed" in options.

Shotgun,

You've lost your Bhaalskills (that probably included Cure Light Wounds) and don't have a healer in your group with lots of 'Cure Wound' / 'Heal' types of spells.

Each character heals one hit point per 8 hours of rest.

As noted above, the game allows for the natural healing of the most damaged character (around 100 hit points lost for 30 to 34 days of rest) with the 'Rest until healed' option on if there are no healers in the group with curing spells.

Does it take into account the effect of daily use items? (For example a certain pair of gloves that can be used once you have UAI.)

Without doing one ounce of testing [img]graemlins/givingspeech.gif[/img] my understanding is that the game only looks for any curing spells (and similar special abilities) in the group plus the aforementioned one hit point per character per eight hour rest ... I'm not sure whether a Paladin's 'Lay on Hands' enters the equasion or not ... but otherwise I suspect that items are not accounted for (want to wake up with half of your Potions of Extra Healing missing? ). It certainly doesn't account for the Cloak of the Sewers' regenerating option.

Anyone who's tested this matter ... well, I bow to your advice on this one.

it does of course though take into account regenerative items like ring of regeneration or gaxx (with one of these, you need only rest 8 hours no matter the damege).
And I'm almost sure it takes into account lay on hands too.

The game doesn't seem to account for at least some regenerating items while sleeping (although does account for regeneration when going 'cross country' from region to region).

You need to regenerate first, then sleep (I have tested with Blackrazor and Axe of Unyielding +5 only, not with any rings) to overcome the "You have rested for 32 days and 16 hours"-type syndrome.

I've tested the rings and they work during sleep.
So does potion of regeneration btw.
