The most I ever had was 73 thousand and with no cheating at all. I didn't spend a gold piece on NOTHING until I left the underdark.

No. Without stealling anything, only by the gold found and magic items (that were found) sold, I have reached more than 100k fairly easily.

it's hard to tell the max "without cheating"
do you consider it cheating if a thief steals from a shop and sells to a fence? you can make plenty of "honest" money that way but even without stealing you can get to high numbers with all those Plate+1 etc. laying around later in the game

I had more than 500 000 once. If you solo a character without many equipment needs (sorcerer, **monk**) you can amass a huge amount of money in a short amount of time. [img]smile.gif[/img]

The most I've had, I guess, is about around 90k but that was before I had my items upgraded by Cromwell.
