Can a monk hold his own later on in the game in combat. I don't want to play for a while onto to find he's useless and have to start again. I know you can get him the gauntlets of crushing and so forth but will be be a front man in fights?.

My solo monk had no trouble till it came to beating the third major ToB boss, and even then it was a simple matter of choosing when to attack and when to retreat and regenerate.

(Thats not to say that its not easy to get a monk killed, get them in over their heads and theyll die real quick, but thats true of any character)

They are very powerful in the mid game, but in the endgame will be outmatched by well-equipped fighters.

I find that their lack of HP doesn't make them good front-liners. I find that if you send in someone to distract enemies and then send your monk in, that your monk will pulverize the enemieswithout suffering a lot of damage.

My solo Monk never had a problem with enemies, I always use him as a front man, also if u get swarmed by lots of well-equipped fighter, try and lure them in one by one... u can also try this tactic - hide in shadows, go up to enemy, hit it, run away and repeat.(only use it against non-hasted enemies)

Weak? U call Monks weak? Man, wait until u fight one, I promise u that u'll get ass kicked... Also if u r a RETARDED fighter, u can barely move after getting stunned... also Monks can go stealth and attack u when u least expect it.
