From what I know there are many editors available like shadowmaster and there is a add-on available wich removes the max level cap. take a look at the Iron Works website!
I used shadowmaster and it works fine you can edit many more things then only your stats with it! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

If you use Crom Faeyr you get 25 strength, but that is the only way you can get a stat that high. There are opportunities to raise your other stats by a few points later in the game too.

Raising stats above 18 without cheating:

The Tomes in BG1 will add 1 point to each stat (except Wisdom, there a 3 Tomes of that)
The Machine of Lum the Mad in Watcher's Keep (ToB) does something
The Deck of Many Things does something too
The Mage spell Friends adds 6 to your Charisma for a while
The Cleric spell (and Bhaalspawn ability) Draw Upon Holy Might adds 1 to you STR, DEX, and CON for every 3 levels of the caster
Potions of Genius & Mind Focusing
And there are many items in the game that do stuff (Axe of Unyielding gives +1 to CON, several Ioun Stones raise a stat or two, the Plate of Balduran gives +1 Charisma, etc).
