I am using Infinity Engine Editor to make myself some items. So far, I've just made new ones, but now I wanna edit those who already exists. So I choose 'Load Item' or something, so the BG2-folder appears. But then I cant find the location of the items!
So my question is: Where in the BG2-folder is the item-folder?

There isn't an items folder. All the items are stored in a file called Items.bif which is in your BG2/data folder. You need WinBiff from teambg to extract the bif files to get the .itm files out.

Actually, IEEP (Infinity Engine Explorer Pro) will extract the .itm files too.

Not sure what version you have, Whalken, but I'm using build 1.17.2 and it seems to be able to extract them well enough.

IEEP is also available at TeamBG.

Edit: To extract with IEEP, just load IEEP up, and open the ITM folder. Pick whatever item you are looking to edit, highlight it and click export.

Hmm, where did you get that, Erydian? I have v1.0.9, the one you get at TeamBG. So have you gotten yours from someplace else?

I downloaded it here. But I was mistaken on something. It isn't IEEP, it's Near Infinity (I always seem to get them confused). :embarrassed: Sorry for the confusion!

All of the game's items are contained in a file called "items.bif". As far as I can tell it's sort of like a zip file - all of the individual items are packed together into one big file. You can find that file in your "Data" directory as Vaskez has said.

To get at the individual files, you have to extract them from the .bif file. WinBiff will work, as will Near Infinity.

Again, very sorry for the confusion. I'm feeling pretty idiotic at the moment if it's any consolation.

EDIT: For WinBiff, you have to "load" the game first. Click on Load (you'll see it's looking for KEY file), then browse to your BG2 directory and click on/open "chitin.key". A list of BIF files should appear in the left window. You'd simply scroll down to "items.bif", select it, and choose the specific item(s) you were interested in from the right window.
