I am stuck (hence name!)

I am playing my way through BGII and decided to visit and get on with Watcher's Keep.

I am now stuck battling the Cromatic monster (I think that is what he is called). It is on the level with the various elements (fire, poison, ice and air) Monster is now free but does not seem to take any damage at all.

Can someone tell me how to defeat him please.

You should have found diffrent notes in which it says what each creature the cromatic demon transformes himself to is vulnerable against...

Ice vs. Fire
Lightening vs. Slime
Acid & Poison vs. Air

Welcome to the board.

There is a page in one of the libraries that describes killing the beast when in ice form, with fire.

Save lots of arrows of fire and Melfs MM for this battle and surround him with Skely warriors and it should be pretty easy.

Manwe's got it right, but he's easiest to damage/kill when in ice form.
