starting ToB strands my characters? Please Help!

I just beat-down Irenicus for the final time, and since I already have ToB installed, it started up. However, when you start in the forest, for some reason my character (kensai/mage) and Viconia are stuck back in the Elven City. whats up with that? I tried to make them leave the elven city, but I get the 'gather your party' message. Viconia and my char are in a Romance, if that has anything whatsoever to do with it. I tried talking to Viconia; no dice. I tried importing my BG2 final save into ToB and my char and Viconia got stuck in the area you fight Irenicus in.. aarrrgh!

Also I tried reloading my BG2 save and killing Irenicus again.. Same thing. The only 3rd-party mod I have installed is the bioware bhaalpowers one from baldurdash... Seems hard to believe thats messing it. Any help please?

There was a problem like this earlier. But I forgot who talked about this, and they're solution. My suggestion to ya is just to import an earlier game. Then you can use the CLUA Console to get back your experience. Don't cheat just bring your characters to a level they would be at. I had to do this because Amnoen refused to talk to me when I changed him from vampire to human.

uhhh...I seem to remember people saying in an earlier thread that the ToB patch should fix this problem, but I'm not sure.

Besides, if you haven't installed it already you should anyway, it fixes a good deal of problems.

Thanks for the advice, I did end up getting it fixed. For others with this problem, the patch probably won't help. Did nothing for me. But I beat Irenicus again, and then used a console command to warp my stranded characters to the forest. If anyone else needs this, ask and I'll find a link to the console command.
