I bought ToB but haven't actually played it yet. I started a new game and want to go from start to finish (i.e. chapter 1-9) In my adventuring, I have noticed that many monsters such as liches and drangons seem to be much smarter. Even the lich in the...

Another thing that seems tougher is stealing from stores. I completeed the Slavers quest in chp 2, and then was going to steal a few of the new items that Benard will sell you after freeing Hendeck. Before I installed ToB I usally could get whatever I wanted with a score around 130 or so from him. After I installed ToB I could not even steal a simple longsword with a ability score of 125. I had to drink 4 potions of theivery before I couls steal anything from him. Geesh, thoese potions are not cheap either, I had to steal a bunch of stuff from all over town to make it worth my while.

Ether in ToB in the Inn at Saradush I could not steal him with a score of 225 ! Why does it have the option of stealing him then ??

Yeah, dragon AI and other monster AI has been improved. Some tricks like setting traps would get your party creamed faster than you can blink, and dragons now are smarter with their wing buffets and breath weapons.
