Hey Larry...

I'm assuming that you installed ToB on your home PC last night?

If so, can you tell me whether or not you experienced any problems of the sort being discussed yesterday...namely, the magically disappearing text bug?

If you did, can you tell me how you fixed it? If not, what OS are you running on your PC?

Thanks!

I have Windows 98 Plus.
The only problem that I had was that my game gave me an assertion error before I could access the play-mode.
I went to my directory and realized that I had placed all of the various files that I had no idea what they were, into a self-made sub-folder.
I erased the folder, and freed the files to be loose in the direct D:BauldersSoA folder once again, and tried re-installation of ToB, and that worked.
I had no further problems.

Great! Thanks Larry!

I'm going to go out and get the game today and install it tonight. I run Windows 98 and am hoping to not get any errors. I want to get as much info. as possible before I try to install so I can fix the problems without spending 3 hours jacking around with it.

It appears as though many people who have installed 3rd party patches or installed custom items/character classes are having problems. Most of them are having to do a clean reinstall of BG2/BG2 official patch/ToB before they can get anything work. That's the problem with 3rd party stuff, I guess...

Thanks again!

I have never used the game editor, nor anything else that takes away or adds to the original setup of the game. Maybe that has something to do wih the fact that I don't have to worry about bugs. I only made the mistake of relocating the files into a sub-directory.
