Yeah, we'll probably do it here, I agree. We just wanted to have a separate website forever to document this story and our memories.

By the way - this is not a no reloads game but we still play on Insane to keep us alert. The dungeon took us 5 hours with 3 reloads. We cleared the whole russian, demonic and golem evil butts.

Actually, I personally don't feel that I've played a good game unless I deal with everything that Weimer & Co. throw at me.

The Great Escape: Part I
After some nights without sleep Aragorn the Cleric/Ranger was suddenly woken up by loud steps. He quickly came to his awareness. From the shadows the steps were getting closer.

Aragorn tried to distinguish apperanece that was closing in on him. Focusing his eyes he finally saw what it was. A big muscular man was standing before him. With his dark and rough voice he appealed to Aragorn and mentioned that he has much untapped power in side him.

After that he cast some painful magic spells and fled. Aragorn was lying on the floor for some seconds (felt like minutes and hours) because of the excruciating pain he felt. Imoen his sister used her thieving skills and rescued him.

Then he noticed his brother Darius who was a Sorcerer and an Elf. In the other cages in the room there were Jaheira and Minsc. Dairus and Aragorn decided to find their way out of this evil and unfriendly place.

They've gathered what they could (weapons and armour) and went searching for their freedom. They all knew that a long road was ahead of them. Soon they were on their way all clinching to their weapons and walking close together so they could cover each others back.

Taking their first steps through the dungeon they encountered their first foe who surely was not the last one. The enemy sighted appeared to be a Mephit. Minsc used his stealth abilities and shot him from the shadows with a bow. But there was a twist to his death. A new Mephit came out of nowhere. On his right there was some kind of magical machine that summoned them over and over again. Aragorn the party's leader ran towards the machine and shut it down. The first enemy was defetead and a glimpse of hope was drawn in everyone's mind.

They had no choice but to go on. 12 steps forward a Djinni taunted them. He was talking some weird things about the button and inquired Aragorn who will press the button. Aragorn knew where to stand with his words and weapons and replied: "I will press the button!" Ogre Mage was summoned from thin air but he opposed no bigger danger for Aragorn & CO. Few spells later he was lying on the ground - dead.

Since the start of this journey Minsc was always scouting ahead searching for new dangers lurking from the evil shadows surrounding them. And this decision (as you will found out later) was a very wise one. Moving through darkness of the dungeon, Minsc reported back to Aragorn that some Duergars were waiting for them up front. One of them was a Mage other two were just plain Dwarves. They also had some war dogs with them. Minsc crawled back and shot the dog in his left ear. The dog who was stupid enough to follow him was charmed by Minsc's whistling.

The dog was sent back to his former owners to make the Mage waist some spells on him. Other two dogs repeated the procedure and there were only two Duergars and a Duergar Mage left. The first Duergar seemed less then intelligent since he followed only Minsc all the time. Apparently he fell in love with him. Minsc was smart enough to run in circles so the rest of the party members could whack him to his demise. The same thing happened to the other Duergar. Only Mage was still alive.

Minsc decided to take a trip to the dark side once again. He was shooting his first arrows at the Mage stripping him of his Stoneskins. The next tactic Minsc used was getting the Mage cast spells at Mincs without any damage. This part was trickier. The secret of Minsc' victory was that he had to hide in shadows at the right time. Soon the Mage ran out of spells and became one with the dungeon's rusty and dirty floor ...

The Great Escape: Part II
... after obtaining the key for their captor's little Golem the next big thing was on their map. A Greater Otyugh was on the menu for this fight. Imoen summoned some fodder to aid them in this battle. While everyone was running towards their foe, Darius decided to stay back since he still had no spells memorised. This big circle where the fight had taken it's course were to their advantage. With summons taking Otyugh's attention the other party members attacked him with fury. But they were not ready for the surprise that followed. With Otyugh's death a group of insects came from his rotting body. Minsc was the one to take damage once again. Other party members managed to run away. A couple of healing potions later Minsc was back to him old self once again.

After this were over they were up to explore the rest of the dungeon. Walking slowly towards their enemies and cutting them like cookies they got their first quest. Their paths were crossed by Nymphs.

Aragorn and company were told to get the Acorns from this Illyich fellow. They agreed to take the task at hand.

De-trapping their captor's room they found a portal key which they then later used to travel to arrive at some other part of dungeon they had never seen before. At the arrival the group had to catch their breathe. At the arrival a man greeted them. He presented himself as Yoshimo.

They were not sure to trust him or not but they needed all the help they could get in this unfriendly place they were in.
The group took the path through the portal once again.

The Great Escape: Part III
The most of the upper part of the dungeon was behind them which they have already cleared so there was nothing to fear they were keeping their senses sharp tough. Fighting and cutting through more and more enemies they knew that a big and nasty fight was waiting for that could mean their death.
Minsc once again like numerous times before scouted again. Since he was a Ranger he was skilled in hearing things other creatures could not hear. Steps were getting closer and closer. As if their captor found out of group's escape. But it was not their captor who Minsc saw. It was Illyich fellow.

The little Dwarven barbarian was sarcastic about Aragorn and his comapnions and their fighting abilities. Due to this kind of action the party somehow knew that a tough fight ahead of them. Yoshimo set some traps and quite successfully. The party members decided to really stand up for themselves and there was no room for mistakes.


Aragorn and his company got the upper hand in this fight and finally the Dwarven barbarian was dead!


The next on the list was Galabrezu. Darius who memorised the spells he needed by this time casted MMM and soon the fight was on. Party was forming a circle around the creature and soon it was Galabrezu's time to feed the earth.


But the main fight of this dungeon was far from over. The monk Rasputin provided heavy resistance. His speed and powerful fists opposed big threat to the party.
But as always lady luck was on Aragorn and his friends.


The next opponent on the list who attacked Minsc was Golem. He didn't oppose too much danger and was killed in a blink of an eye compared to other fights.

The last two opponents were still alive. And probably the most dangerous. Zhivago and Karamazov with her deadly bow. Zhivago was first on the list to kill.

Party members decided to take a rest. Upon the awakening Duergars were waiting for them but nothing too drastic happened. The known procedure kicked in and soon they were all dead.

Coming back again to the circle Zhivago summoned a Fallen Deva to kill the party.
But Aragorn and his friends decided to flight instead of fight. Couple of rounds later the Deva vanished. Zhivago's end came quickly.

The last but not least was Karamazov - the most dangerous one because of the bow she possessed. Minsc and Aragorn were up to take damage and other party memebers attacked knowing that the end was near. Finally Jaheira struck the death blow to Karamazov.


The big fight was behind them. With the Acorns in their backpacks they were off to the second level of the dungeon. More battles followed.

At the very near end of the dungeon they had to release their wrath on some Assassins who thought that they can kill Aragorn and his friends. They were wrong.


The end was near. They could smell the fresh air coming from outside the dungeon. They went down the stairs and walked at fast pace. Soon they saw the first rays of the sun. They were free. Finally.

Great story telling Xen!

We're moving on...

To do some minor quests, get the Shield of Harmony and so on. We don't have a thief until we get Imoen so we'll stay away from quests that have many traps although we can absorb some damage in one or the other way...

Athkatla and it's quests
The party took a moment and enjoyed the sun they have not seen for a long time. A shock followed.

Their captor was waiting for them outside. The battle of words between Aragorn and his captor started. Then Imoen casted a spell on the muscular man. At the moment spell was cast many men in dark robes with hoods teleported to the party (or so it seemed). Imoen and their captor were taken away with the men.

Still in shock, because of the event the party didn't know what to do. But Aragorn gathered his mind and bid everyone except Darius farewell. The party parted.

Darius and Aragorn went to a local inn and rested there. The next day after they finished their breakfast they decided to explore this city in wich they were in. Lady destiny took them to the Slums.

At the arrival a man named Gaelan Bayle made mentioned something about Imoen's disappearance and the possible whereabouts of her. Gaelan also told Aragorn and Darius that they should try to make a contact with a powerful guild called The Shadow Thieves. But the cost of so called help was high - 15.000 GP.


Aragorn was dubious whether to make the contact or not so he told Darius that they should wait a little and explore the rest of the city and it's surroundings.

So the two brothers decided to pay a little visit to Trademeet to help the local people who were pested with troubles caused by Djinnis and Rakhsasas.

The mayor of Trademeet offered his thanking to new heroes. But they were also given a task to help Cernd a local Druid. They agreed and left Trademeet.

They helped to solve some Skinner murders in the Bridge district. In the Five Flagons Inn they met a group of actors and one of their members - Haer'Dalis was captured by Mekrath in the Sewers.

After days of wondering around the two brothers entered the sewers. They both had unpleasant feeling walking through them - everything was dark and slimy. After some scouting from Aragorn noticed a group of people.

Soon the all hell broke loose.



A shocked for Aragorn followed - his brother was killed.
