I have just finished BG1 and ToSC and I am away to start BG2 again. Last time I played SoA ToB wasnt out but I have it now should I install Tob also as is it interlaced as ToSC was with BG1 or is it separate

yes you should - the story comes after the SoA resolution but one of the areas is durlag's tower like and can be acessed in the SoA as well as the ToB bit (it's probably best to leave it first time though as it's hard and some of the stuff you can pick up can only be used in ToB and if you store it in SoA areas you won't be able to get it back)
crucially ToB raises the XP cap to a point that you may well reach in the SoA portion and gives you the lovely HLAs (high level abilities) finally - there's a nifty bit of functionality in ToB where you can press the TAB key and containers and doors light up which saves a lot of that hunting round with the mouse (although that did have a pleasing 'searching' quality to it) you should also install the ToB fixpack and the relevant baldurdash fixpack - check the rorum FAQ for the links and when you've done that you should go away and play the game and not come back until you've finished it - you will be spoiled round here ![]() but it's up to you of course - have fun |
