HI, I just discovered I left an item for the equalizer back in the asylum, is it possible to go back for it? Also I am thinking of bringing Keldorn on board -is he still worth it without the equalizer?

cheers

Yes, I believe that you can go back.

Bring Keldorn in, he's a good fighter. However, there's no point in giving him the equalizer when you can give him carsomyr.

Nutman,

It depends where you are in the game as to whether you can go back to the Asylum or not. If you're still in Bodhi's maze or in Brynnlaw, then 'yes'.

You can CLUA the part in if you've left it behind for good, or simply live without The Equaliser. It's a good sword, but hardly a vital component to winning the game.

Keldorn should be a useful inclusion in a good and/or neutral aligned party - better still with the Gauntlets of Dexterity.

I tend to agree with Lord. If you've accessed Carsomyr and am not a Paladin yourself, then Keldorn is well served with that sword. Bards and Thieves can eventually use the sword too through the Higher Level Ability 'Use Any Item', but frankly Keldorn is likely to be as good a choice as any for much of the game. There's some case to dual weild him with Foebane and The Purifier when you're in ToB and got the upgrades from Cespenar.

Hi , thanks for the info. I am back in Athkatla. I am thinking of replacing Minsc with Keldorn, but I do have Viconia in my party so may be some conflict - although I remember reading somewhere it is possible to have them both in the party?

cheers

Why wouldn't it be possible? I never had Minsc and Viconia fight. As the matter of fact, I never had any two of my NPCs fight. Valygar and Jan started a dialogue once fighting each other (verbally), but I never had any serious NPC problems.

Anyway, I think Keldorn is better than Minsc. My opinion, though.

*cough*
He said he's replacing Minsc with Keldorn, so Minsc will get kicked out in favour of Keldorn. And I do believe Keldorn and Viconia in one party could cause problems, yes.

I hear it's possible to pre-empt the fight if you see the conversation that precedes it. Apparently you can re-load and move them far apart. Since the game's code checks to see if the NPCs can see each other, if they can't see each other, the timer fails and the dialogue never triggers. Seems kind of cheesy, though. (Do you really need Minsc and Edwin in the same party that badly?)

Gidday, its Keldorn and Viconia I would like to try in the same party. If they don't work out I can always go back and pick up Minsc.

cheers

To backtrack somewhat....

If you have done the underdark and are in chapter 6 you cannot go back to brynnlaw/asylum without cheating.

The equiliser, IMHO, isn't worth the money it costs to forge, I wouldn't worry about it.

Oh and keldorn isn't anywhere near as good as a dual wielding minsc, again IMHO. I wouldn't swap.

Forging weapons shouldn't be a problem at all once you have the correct parts; money shouldn't be an issue by the time you're out of the Underdark. Sell all of the loot you collected that you don't need and you'll have plenty of money if you didn't have enough already.
