I have beaten all the monsters on this level including the dragon and Carson. I figured out the torch room and got the Item I needed there. However there is 1 Monster that I am unable to defeat. That is the Demi Lich in the southwest area of the level. I have a party of 6. 1 Fighter 1 Ranger ( Minsc ) 1 Druid Jaheria 1 Magic user/ cleric (Aerie) 1 Mage/Thief (Imoen) and 1 Cleric (Viconia). I know,I Know Viconia and Aerie can't be in the same party, But equipped with a Helm of opposite alignment and Girdle of Giant strength, Viconia is a most usefull NPC.
Here is my dilemma....My Mages cast Pierce shield and or Warding whip right out of the gate/ My Fighter and Minsc Attack full force while my druid and cleric either summon Planetar or usa slings as back up. Jaheira usually casts insect swarm first. Anyway, My party is at Level 25 yet we can do minimal damage to this lich, Also the Demon starts to completely Kill all my NPCs 1x1. Completely Kill!!!! Portrait gone everything!!!!! Am I being obtuse? Is this another puzzle? Or should I wait and come back at higher Lever? Any help here would be appreciated. I'm way too stubborn to quit.....Thanks in advance

Remember Kangaxx back in Athkatla? Same deal here--use the same techniques. Demi-liches are immune to level 9 spells and below. If you have any level 10 spell HLAs, use them.

Oh thanks Pirengle, I never did the Lich quest in SOA so this is the first Demi-Lich I've seen. I'll check my HLA's tonight and try them. Thanks for your help.....

Some facts and suggestions.

1) Demi-Liches cannot be struck by any weapon of less than +4 enchantment.
2) Demi-Liches cannot be affected by any spell of Levels 1 through 9 (spells that create highly enchanted weapons excepted).
3) All spells gained through HLAs count as Level 10.
4) Demi-Liches are feared for their two main attacks: Their Demilich Howl, which is very like the Wail of a Banshee, and their ability to Trap the Soul, which has been compared to Imprisonment.
5) Whenever you're losing a battle, scroll upwards in the text window to see who or what is kicking your butt.
6) In this fight, the entire party does not have to be in the room.
7) Minsc's Berserk ability does NOT grant immunity to Imprisonment. It will protect him, though (there is a difference), but not if he's alone.
