Well, I have installed SOA and TOB and the patches and most of my mods. It was surprisingly and thankfully easy and I am feeling quite chuffed with myself!
 However, I know that I really have no cause to be chuffed because clearly the difficulty level for installing them was low, because I am stumped at what to do with the Planar Sphere mod and the portrait I downloaded. Didn't Karze Sose's portrait portal used to have instructions on what to do when installing his portraits? I looked but came up empty. Anyway  . Okay so they are both .rar. So when I click on them, WinRAR comes up and I have to extract something? Only I can't figure out what exactly to do. If someone could step-by-step me through the extraction process I would be very grateful [img]smile.gif[/img]

.rar is an archive format similar to .zip files.
Portraits wind up in the BG2/portraits folder, so extract them there. A weiDU mod should be extracted to the BG2 folder, and then the setup program should be run from there. A non-weiDU mod should, in theory, be similar, but theres a lot of room for funny setups there. Look for a readme.txt file, there should be one for anything that needs installation, and it should give a step-by-step.

Okay, he forgot to tell you what program you need.
You need to go to http://www.rarlab.com/ and download the latest version of WinRaR first. Then you extract the archives as stated above.
