Howdy, been coming here for a long time for advice and lists for editiors, mods etc. I have a problem however, as when I play BG II with ANY mod installed it will occasionally say the following... (Charname)- You cannot initiate dialog. xxxxx appears busy. This appears to be totally random as it happens with everyone from the sewage golem to Ribald and the commoners in the prommenade. However reloading the game or loading another area and doubling back will sometimes (eventually) help. I followed the install list on Weimer's webpage, making sure to get the fixpack, ect. However this still happens to me regardless of the combination of mods I install. The installation itself goes off without a hitch and I've fought and beaten Improved Illyich so I know the mods are functioning, at least on some level. I've looked back on some previous posts and I see Dialog.tlk mentioned several times. It's very frustrating playing through the same old BG-II when you know that there are many ways to change your game just out of reach. Please help me!!

It sounds like you need to install the official patch.

I'm 99% positive I have the Bioware patch downloaded and installed properly. If it's mirrored on Weimer's site it's on my 'puter.

Caveman: There is a problem with XP where this problem occurrs.

There is also an official patch for XP to fix that problem.

Just to confirm - I've quickly browsed Weimer's site and found no mention of the official patch - it's likely you downloaded something else. Also, the 'XXX is busy' bug is practically the 'textbook' example of a need to download the official patch.

You need to uninstall your existing mods, apply the patch that Riftmaker linked to, and (I would recommend) install the Baldurdash fixpack too:

SoA: http://www.baldurdash.org/fixes.html
ToB: http://www.baldurdash.org/ToB/Fixes/TOBfixes.html

and then reinstall your Weidu mods. Your savegames should have saved all your variables, so the uninstallation and reinstallation of mods shouldnt affect your progress with any mod NPC's etc.

Uninstalled and reinstalled making sure to get the bioware patch. No problems so far but I'm not past the sewage golem yet. Crosses fingers.
