Well, when you play a sorcerer you must know wich spells are useful and wich spells wont help you much. Cause you cannot "learn" them you simply know them, and once you've leveled you pick them.
I think they are really good if you have a plan about how your mage is going to be, I mean once you have in mind the spells you will need they kick a**.

Sorcerers ARE more powerful generally because they have flexibility in the spells they are able to cast. Make sure you choose GOOD spells every level, there is little point choosing Find Familiar for instance.

For suggested Sorcerer spells, check Dundee Slaytern's signature.

yeah, but dundee and i have had disagreements before on sorc spell selection, and we both have had valid points...

the trick to becoming a truely powerful sorc is doing your homework...

read here,

http://members.chello.nl/~j.vanthull/BG2SR/Main.htm

run searches for spell guides, read other people's guides, but don't take their word as gospel...its your character, do it the way you want to...and don't be afraid of reloading from bad selections, and playing a new game to test out a strategy...

my guide...

test, research, and have fun...
