grr help please

Just installed BG2 with ToB. I havent started playing yet, havent even made a character, and im confused which to play when it gives me a choice between SoA and ToB. If i do SoA, can i still do all the extra areas? or should i just do ToB?

If this is your first game, start with SoA. SoA is the first levels, and you go to ToB once you finish with SoA. If you start ToB, then you start with much more advanced characters, and only play the ToB part. Better to play through the whole thing from the start (i.e. SoA first, then ToB).

and stay away from Watchers Keep for a few levels too, however tempting it might look on your map

If you decide to play just ToB, then you've just wasted your money. Play through the whole game, starting in SoA first.

If you choose SoA, then you will actually play both SoA and then ToB immediately after. There is no break in the game (you just play the final battle in SoA, and then it starts you out in the first area of ToB. So definitely start at the beginnig if you haven't played before.
