Howdy,

I kinda screwed up edwin, i learned like every lvl 1 2 3 spells and didn't know wizzards had a maximum amount of spells they can learn per inteligence.

Now i did almost every quest in the big city and can't learn new spells, i don't have lvl 8 and 9 spells and only a couple of 6 and 7 level spells. Is there a way he can forget spells or learn more? Is there a ring +inteligence or something?

If i just can't learn more with him i like to know if there are other evil or perhaps neutral wizzards. If there aint more of that kind maybe you guys know a evil/neutral sorc.

Thnx in advance,
Mad Menno

a potion of genius can help you (raises int. for a time)...you can buy them almost everywhere

as for too many spells, i believe that there is only a limit per LEVEL, but i might be wrong. If you have ToB it is possible to erase spells from your spellbook as well

Thnx for the info i only have SoA but that potion of genius maybe works out.

But how many int do i get from such a potion? Should it be enough to add like 10 spells extra? If it doesn't add that mutch i rather get another evil character somewhere....

I have read about "Jan" illusionist is he able to cast evocation? or is he realy limmited to cast illusion kinda stuff?

There should also be an evil sorc to get somewhere shouldn't there? that would fit also i guess/hope

POTN43 - Potion of Insight

It will be as if a higher being had stepped into the drinkers head, filling
it with intuitive thoughts and amazing insights. The effect is to raise the
wisdom of the person to 18 for approximately 6 hours or until dispelled.

POTN37 - Potion of Mind Focusing

This potion will imbue the drinker with the ability to focus the mind
unerringly towards any task that needs to be performed.

STATISTICS:

Intelligence: +3 bonus
Dexterity: +3 bonus
Duration: 12 hours

HELM23 - Golden Ioun Stone (Throne of Bhaal)

Highly sought out by wizards and mages, this ioun stone raises the
intelligence of those who possess it.

POTN15 - Red Potion

Close examination reveals this liquid to be very peculiar in nature. It could
be a sorcerer's dream, but that would depend entirely on whom you asked.
After ingesting the mixture, the drinker becomes the weakest, most unwise,
yet incredibly intelligent person to have ever lived, with an innate 50%
magic resistance as well. The effects remain for an entire 24 hours, so
think carefully before unplugging the cork.

STATISTICS:

Intelligence: set to 25
Wisdom: set to 3
Strength: set to 3
Special: +50% resistance to all magical damage
Duration: 24 hours

And look for intelligence.

It will. Edwin's INT is 18, and a mage needs at least 19 INT to scribe every spell into a spellbook. The Potion of Genius adds 4 to the drinker's INT score for a few rounds, more than enough time to read new scrolls into Edwin's spellbook.

I have read about "Jan" illusionist is he able to cast evocation? or is he realy limmited to cast illusion kinda stuff?

All of the schools of magic (Abjuration, Alteration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Illusion, Invocation/Evocation, and Necromancy) have at least one opposition school. Any practicioners of one school of magic are barred from casting or learning another school. For example, Edwin is a conjurer, and conjurers can't cast Illusion spells. The full list of schools, spells, and oppositions can be found here. Jan, being an Illusionist, can't cast Necromancy spells.

There should also be an evil sorc to get somewhere shouldn't there? that would fit also i guess/hope

Nope, no evil sorcerers in this game. In fact, there are so few evil characters in BG2 that people are making evil character mods to fill the gap. Haven't seen any I like yet, though.

edwin can't cast divination spells...

opposition school for conjuration is divination...which really only has 2 good spells anyway, true sight and farsight...both very useful, but your clerics can cast them too...

Farsight really isn't that good a spell. I never use it b/c I find no need to. The few times I have used it makes me feel like I wasted a spell slot.

urm...farsight, web, damage area over time spell...the holy trinity of cheese...but your clerics get it in a spell level that is lacking in good slots, for druid...
