Okay! Going through the list of items to be tweaked in the Item Balancing MOD, one that really sticks out is
Bow,Tansheron's Bow +3,CATTIBOW Now, in the Drizzt novels, Catti Brie may very well fire a bow that shoots phantasmal bolts of lightning, but that's still no reason to give her a bow that, to the player's eyes, is an exact duplicate of a supposedly "unique" Bow that (s)he already saw, and perhaps even obtained, in Trademeet. Could someone (or several someones) furnish me with the particulars of whatever missile weapon Salvatore equips her with, so I could make her bow in BG2 reflect that? And while you're at it, this would be a good time to post "correction" ideas for the rest of the stuff that Drizzt & Co. carry.

As far as I know, Catti-Brie's magical items are a long bow +1 and a dagger + 1, nothing special, but I couldn't really find the appropriate information.

I looked and she's not in the 3rd edition Forgotten Realm's handbook. My 2nd edition Forgotten Realm's boxed set is in a box in my basement, but I don't she would be in it, anyway.
I think you are free to make her one as you like. The story of the bow she is using is unique, but the box itself is not, just like there are tons of Staff of the Magi in existance. You could just change the story, or you could make a new bow. [ 09-03-2003, 04:02 AM: Message edited by: Luvian ]

Well, failing that, could someone with more familiarity with the Drizzt novels than I have (which is about 100% of you) suggest some possible enchantments, and back it up with some support from the books?

So it was really two items, a magic bow, I'd say +2, and a magic quiver, probably +1.

As far as I remember her bow was known as the heartseeker. She also had the quiver that produces unlimited phantom arrows. In the later books she finds the sentient long sword (Cutter i think is the name, that has an infinitely sharp edge that can cut solid rock) when drizzt kills the weapon master of house baenre (the same time drizzt gets his gauntlets/anklets of speed).

The Heartseeker and the Quiver of Plenty? I can duplicate that The Quiver doesn't make phantom arrows, however.

So it would be Lilarcor with the Vorpal Sword ability of 25% chance to kill on Hit.
Or something like that. |

Well, it's not as big a Lilacor.
Taulmaril the Heartseeker, I'd say would be a +4 bow (yes, it is artifact level of magic) with a quiver of plenty. Now, IIRC, the arrows explode or cause some big magical effect on impact. Anyone else recall? If so, I'd say +1 electrical damage similar to the fire damage crossbow in BG. I think BG needs more magic. ![]() |
