I found this:

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categorie...p?pf_id=236461

Apparently you can pre-order Baldur's Gate 3 for PC...

I don't know why everyone is so excited about a supposedly new Baldur's Gate, as I am pretty positive that Bioware/Black Isle announced that there wouldn't be a Baldur's Gate 3 of any kind. Of course we want them to make a new one, but I don't think that the Infinity Engine would suffice for most BG-fans.. and the Aurora-engine of NWN isn't that shabby either..

That add for BGII has been up there for ages. Don't count on BGIII.

Arn't these the same people who said "There will never be another Infinity Engine game." and then came out with Icewind Dale II?

well, probably true, but personally I like Infinity a lot. Aurora is beautiful (though I wish the view could angle a few degrees more toward the ground), but I like the simpler Infinity interface (of course NWN has a lot more going on in your inventory, etc). A non-gamer friend also commented on how the artwork in BG2 impressed her more than that of NWN, and I really felt the same way.

Basically I can handle the old isometric view if the game is great.
Now, if there was a single-player Aurora game with a 6-person party like in BG2...

Nah I think there will be no more games like the BG series ever again

We only recently got NWN and although its nice to look at, and will probably be a joy to play, I kinda missed the fixed point view you get with BG2, and my mind kept thinking that I should be playing some kinda shoot-em-up with a 3d view like that... It does look nice though, and I'm sure I will get into it, I just don't like change until I get bored with the old ways I guess
