more new party assistance

I'm finally joining the "help me out with my new party!" trend with not one, but two parties. I'm wanting to try Anomen plus flirtpack, and Kelsey without a screwed-up dialogue.tlk file. Here's what I have so far:

ANOMEN PARTY
PC (swashie)
Anomen
Imoen
Mazzy
Valygar
ToB NPC

KELSEY PARTY
PC (inquisitor)
Kelsey
Nalia
Viconia

Notes:

• I plan on installing Ascension.
• I do not have the EoU rebalanced shapeshifter component installed, and I don't plan on doing so.
• I prefer roleplaying over powergaming.

Which characters would be a better complement to either party, roleplay-wise? (I know about weapons, gear, etc.)

For Kelsey you probably want Jan and Imoen. Imoen will give you some "competition" if you know what I mean. Jan just has a lot to say to Kelsey as well as some off-beat items for him.

I also think Minsc will be a good choice for banters.


So, my Kelsey party would be: You, Minsc, Kelsey, Imoen, Jan, choose between Anomen and Nalia.

Errata: Oh, I meant Viconia, not Nalia. (To any admin or super-moderator: Get rid of that useless edit timeout feature, I want to be able to correct my own damn mistakes!)

I am no admin or whatsoever, but I have read the thread where the no-edit-timeout feature is wxplained, and despite all the inconvience it poses it is quite a good feature. We all just have to agree on it.

The main idea of the feature is to make trolls (people who post offensive responses or abuse rules in any other way) pay for their crimes. It is easy to say a bad thing and later on delete it for moderators not to notice anything.

For your Kelsey party, I'd definitely include Anomen both in SOA and TOB. They have some interesting interactions if you're romancing Kelsey, especially in TOB. I also like having Jan in my Kelsey parties.

A bit light on clerical ability, but nothing serious and all party members have good RP value.

Imoen won't compete with the PC for Kelsey's affections--if Kelsey's in a romance with the PC, Imoen and Kelsey never get anything started. Although they do have some decent banters besides (I'm very pleased with the Kelsey/Imoen banter about the PC romance...)

is an excellent SOA party (and Kelsey-related party, although if you have the time swapping out, say, Minsc for a few other people long enough to do their quests and get Kelsey's banter with them isn't a bad idea.) It will be lighter on melee power than I prefer in TOB since only two members will be able to Greater Whirlwind but it's still very doable.

If you want to stick with Viconia, you can go more evil-themed and add Korgan as well--Kelsey's banters are, I would say, above average with both of them.

The Anomen party consists of swashie, Anomen, Imoen, and ToB NPC only. I must admit, I only made this party to hear Anomen's flirts courtesy of the new Flirt Pack.

As for the Kelsey party, I threw in Viconia because I've never played a game with her. To be honest, I prefer melee over magic. I'm not dead-set on having Nalia in the party as anything other than a potion-of-master-thievery-laden thief. Jan can easily replace Nalia if the banter is good. (Jan twerks me off, especially that dumb quest of his!)

Strong suggestion: have a full party before you use the (one-time only) PC-initiated flirt about gift-giving in SOA.

Yep. I think it's among the most boring quests in the game.

Yeah, but while quest is annoying, Jan is otherwise one of the coolest characters around. I think he has banters with anything you can have banters with and I like his personality.

Also Jan and Kelsey seem to get along rather fine.
