Spoilers
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Started my third go round of SoA and thought I'd take advantage of my "vast" experience. I had lots of stuff crowding my inventory but since I'm a fighter/thief this time out I knew I'd be getting my very own castle to keep it in. So I hauled all my junk with me to D'Arnise and stashed the stuff I wasn't going to need in the first box I came to. Some of this was pretty valuable. After clearing the place out I went back to get it and (you guessed it) everthing was gone, even the stuff that was already there! As a matter of fact all of the containers in the place are now empty. I'm not going to play the whole thing over again, there was nothing really critical but I was curious if this was a bug or something that is a result of adding Tob. The last time I played a fighter (before I installed ToB) I was able to recover everything that was in the various chests and what not. Also new is the mob of guards that follow me around everytime I go back there.

But cant u just drop all ur stuff on the ground and all those ppl around wont pick it up? For example, when u kill an enemy in a city or such, his armor stays there, well, tht my experience, but ive only had it for about 2 months. Although, hehe, with my bag of holding i have never had tht problem since. But i know wht ur talking about.

But cant u just drop all ur stuff on the ground and all those ppl around wont pick it up? Eventually, items left on the ground will disappear. I don't know what, if any, exceptions there are or how long it takes for items to disappear. -Lem |

Ah, you are indeed the unlucky one.
Upon completing the D'Arnise quest the area file for the keep will be replaced by a new one. Mostly to prevent the respawning Yuan Ti from appearing. Unfortunately this also means that all stuff in containers will be unavailable. This is one of the very few exceptions to the general rule that all stuff stored in containers will be perfectly safe.

I believe that also occurs with the other strongholds...I know it does for mage and thief (first hand...I liked that sword!).
I think also Bard, but don't have experience with those foppish "artists". |

Certain Stronghold quests will switch to new maps after you accept the Stronghold. This is done for a variety of reasons: The de'Arnise Keep changes to make it look nicer (crucified guards taken down & buried, etc), the Ranger Cabin gets stocked with new items (and changes the soiled sheets on the bed), and of course to prevent monsters from spawning. The Strongholds that can change are:
Fighter / Barbarian / Monk Thief Mage / Sorcerer Ranger Bard To temporarily fix this and get your stuff back, you will need to cheat. Enable the CLUA console (see the FAQ or the link in my sig) and perform the following 3 steps: 1: Use the MoveToArea command to move to the "old" area 2: Run around and get all your gear out of the containers & into your Inventory 3: MoveToArea again, to get back to the "new" area. Here are the area numbers you need: Fighter: Old--1302 New--1306 Thief: Old--0302 New--0322 Mage: Sorry, I don't know these Ranger: Old--1102 New--1107 Bard: Old--0510 New--0523 Good luck!
