Renal Bloodscalp dead, Arin Gend is Pissed, now what?

After doing the Shadow Thief quest, I killed Renal Bloodscalp, and every other shadow thied in the joint. Now Arin Gend is attacking me, and I'm not quite sure how to proceed. Does this mean I have to take up the offer from Bodhi, or am I just hosed? Any suggestions?

This is the game's way of making sure you don't ruin the main plot. You need to go back to a save before you started trashing the thieves guild. If you want to go after them, choose to side against them, and you will be given missions that allow you to kill them.

You could try proceeding to Chap. 3, but I don't know if that will actually work, or if the Ch. 3 quests have been ruined.

Any quest that includes the shadow thieves, you have to proceed all the way until the end of Chapter 6, then you can attack them without having to worry about Arin. But anytime you try it beforehand, Arin will kill you on the spot. If you really want to get rid of them, you can side with Bodhi so you can attack their main guild house.

"Arin Gend" = Aran Linvail?
"Arin Gend" = Arkanis Gath?

Regardless, don't piss off the Shadow Thieves in Chapter 2. If even a single Shadow Thief turns Hostile to you, a character named Arkanis Gath will show up, and you'll be dead shortly thereafter. In the same vein, once you have started Chapter 3, don't piss off your employer.

Exceptions: There are some times when it's safe to kill them. You can butcher your way through Mae'Var's Guildhall no matter WHAT chapter you're in--but only AFTER Renal has given you the go-ahead to do so. And if you get ambushed on the street, you can safely kill all of the combatants (even those that you're supposed to be helping) without repercussions.
