Underdark and Sarles

First off, my sister is doing Sir Sarles and wants to know if theres a way to get the pure illithium and alloy as well to get certain upgradable items.

Second, In the underdark, As I stumbled unto the illithids before I entered the city, I immidiatly gave the elder brain blood to the the matron mother and did the demon quests. I have exited the city and went to the kou tou and beholder area's to get items I've missed.
1. I can't find the eye stalk, so where is it?
2. Regarding the prince of the KUO-TOA's, with his improved haste, how is it that he can regenerate quicker than a wolfwere?
3. I hadn't given the eggs yet to Adalon, so how is it that I was able to leave without seeing her again? Isn't it just kind of pointless for her to send you to get her eggs when you can leave through the kou-tou's whenever you want?

I can't find the eye stalk, so where is it? In the Beholder place, there *should* be an elder orb right when you go in. He *should* have one. 2. Regarding the prince of the KUO-TOA's, with his improved haste, how is it that he can regenerate quicker than a wolfwere? No clue, but I hate it. 3. I hadn't given the eggs yet to Adalon, so how is it that I was able to leave without seeing her again? Well, I guess you could just leave, but you'd be missing out on loads of XP, and some good items

blast, I'm trying to find the blade of equalizer and that elder orb had nothing.

And as I am a paladin, I am not just about to go skimping on giving the eggs, so I'll be heading back.

There is a way to get both the Illithium and the Alloy. When you talk to Jerlia the Ore Erchant, I think you have to get the dialog options right; ask her about the illithium, then ask about the alloy and get her to make it. Then she goes off to mke alloy, but she's also given you the link you need to find her contact. Save the game and experiment with the conversation.

You must leave the real stuff somewhere safe, though; if you have both alloy and illithium, Sarles takes the illithium automatically.

EDIT: It's possible to sabotage the regeneration rate of the Kuo-Toa Prince.

1. Its possible that because you have already given the Matron Mother the necessary item, the Elder Orb will no longer be there. I have thought before that the Elder Orb was gone - he wasnt where he was suppose to be. But exploring further into the dungeon, i realised that a mod (tactics?) had changed everything and he was at the end of the dungeon now.

2. Maybe its because he is made stronger by the young Kou-Toan Tadpoles that are found in the trough like things.

I had problems finding the eyestalk too. Believe it or not, it's right where you walk in. But don't leave yet, there's a lot more experience and treasure to be had.

If you want to keep the Kuo-Toan prince busy, I've found he's not very resistant against Cloudkill. Just make sure your own party members are!

Follow trancred’s advice and get both the pure ore and the fake ore. Go get eth mace of disruption upgraded and then head back to the temple that hired you to commission Sir Sarles not to Sir Sarles himself. Tell the priest that gave you the quest that the fake stuff is all you could find, he will take it from you and you should get a pile of experience for doing this.

It's not pointless; the only way to leave the Underdark without seeing Adalon again is to convince the Drow to open the door--and that's not as easy as it looks. Most of the time, they just turn hostile, and you're still sealed in the Underdark. If they DO open it, then going through the door dispels the Drow Illusion, and all of Ust Natha turns hostile to you (except the Rope Quest, oddly), thus screwing you out of any quests you may have left undone. So, all in all, you're staying in the Underdark until you're done with Ust Natha, whether it's because you have to stay, or because you want to stay.

It's weird that you can leave the Underdark with the Eggs still in your possession, but not as weird as the fact that Adalon doesn't come after them. (And what would happen if they hatched? How do mother Dragons deal with their rebellious teenaged offspring?)

thanks, I will give my sister the info and will look for the eyestalk, because that's where the blade of the equalizer is, isn't it? And I've already got the rest of the treasure.
