Hoo boy have things changed around here..! Weidu questions.

So, I'm back. I'm not a powergamer, and not totally a party interaction guy, either, but leaning that way. I am a medieval military historian when my day gig's over at night, and groove on tactics, but I can't load too much of the uber-toughening stuff, because my wife is playing and a fairly beginning player.

So which additions would you recommend as neither too "drama," nor totally twinked out? Not interested in cheats or over-the-top items (keep the power levels low, and it keeps things in balance), but items, npcs, things to make stuff interesting... recommendations?

The solaufien mod is VERY fun, if you dont remember him hes a Drow Fighter/mage. he will join your party after underdark. he has lots of dialogs, will romance any race or sex, and can get his own item or spell. some think he is overpowered, but i like him.

Valen is very fun too. shes is a vampire thief who will join your party.

Of course, Ease of Use is great. fixes lots of annying things.

You might want to try Hell Trails. i havent used it yet, but i hear good things. Obviously, it enhances the hell trials.

- The Item upgrade is rather balanced IMO.

- Valen is a powerhouse, do not download it if you do not like powergaming.

- Solaufein is recommendend, though it has several Solaufein based encounters that are really though.

- Tactics, don't download it if your wife is just starting... she will scream in agony when she first meets an improved lich [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]

- Revised Hell Trials is recommended (it adds like 2 minutes of extra game time but hé its nice [img]tongue.gif[/img] )

This should be sufficient enough for you to spice things up a little.

Kelsey: http://www.forgottenwars.net/kelsey . Between him and Solaufein, you get a lot of new party interaction and quest dialogue. There are a couple of new encounters but nothing you won't be able to handle, and the new items are of the "intriguing" rather than "unbalancing" variety.
