My parties usually consist of dwarves and elves. It is roleplaying challenged because these two don't like each other too much.
Humans are boring, gnomes are ridiculous, halflings are disproportional.

Gnomes because I am good at playing them.

Half-orcs because I like them.

I like Dwarves, nothing can beat a good hard ass dwarf beserker. Gnomes are my second favorite, I love Jan Jansen!

Hurrah for Jan: Excellent thief, reasonable mage and VERY funny dialogue!

Agree with AuraMancer, halflings rule , and I guess elves and gnomes are quite cool as well. Dwarves are... allright sorta kinda. Humans are boring.

The original problem in pnp was that halflings, dwarfs and gnomes had TERRIBLE movement rates, and our GM ( ) was a git when it came to enforcing this rule.

i.e. stubby little legs means anyone we were running away from at the time (and 90% of our battles went like this...) would catch the halfling/dwarf/gnome and mach them into doggy doo.

hehehe.

It's just as well Bioware didn't see fit to include the movement rates of the original game, or I think some of you would get slightly irritated with how 'slowly' they move.

And thats all I have to say on this subject

p.s. almost. Dwarves are quite good, but only because they have a very developed history and I like 'grumpy' people

Elves are my first choice, awesome magic users and then there are the dwarves, the evil ankle biters of Faerun
